Being devout and chaste can be important to those involved in Christian relationships. And while chastity is considered a Christian value, many people have different ideas of what constitutes true chastity. Some people will decide that some sexuality is okay, while others will save everything for marriage, others still are much more open mided and have no problem at all joining in with the swingers scene.
Cuddling
Since cuddling is something that shows closeness and not necessarily intimacy, many people will say that this is an acceptable activity for a devout Christian to participate in. Cuddling is a great way to spend time together, develop feelings of closeness, and share your ideals without going too far.
Kissing
This is typically acceptable to most Christians, but some will abstain from even this. The Bible never specifically mentions dating, so the rules can become muddled. The reason some people choose to abstain from kissing is because it is more intimate and can lead to other things. As long as you are able to hold back and hold to your values, kissing is acceptable.
Your Own Rules
Again, the Bible doesn’t ever mention dating, or activities besides sex that should be forbidden. Whether you choose to completely hold back on anything that could create sexual feelings, or whether you think it’s okay to do anything up until the point of physical intercourse will be completely up to you. If you struggle with this, you can talk to others in your community. Many churches actually have groups set up for single adults, and a lot of these concerns are discussed in these groups.
